I am a genius.

Toasted lite wheat hamburger bun + fried egg + fat-free “sharp cheddar” Kraft single = as good as an Egg McMuffin

SO GOOD.

(And only 3.5 WW points, or 8 points for two.)

In other news, my purple hair looks awesome with my pink/orange/purple sweater. Even awesomer than the pink hair did.

AND I got email confirmation that my new tax refund laptop shipped yesterday. DVD burner! Watching DVDs in bed! Stealing the neighbors’ wireless! Bliss.

Finally: how many people know who Marie LaVeau is? Is this one of those things that I mistakenly believe is common knowledge? Because I know I had a weird childhood.

The name sounds familiar…but I couldn’t tell you anything about her.

I am jealous of your purple hair. YAY. Also, yay new laptops. What did you finally decide to go with?

Wasn’t she the 18th-century New Orleans voudou practicioner? If so, Neil Gaiman mentions her mother in American Gods, something along the lines of “Of course this was not the famous Marie Laveau: that was her daughter…” which suggests he, at least, thinks she’s vaguely well-known.

Of course, I may be talking a lot of rubbish here. So may he. It’s been known.

if you scramble an egg in the microwave for a minute (not as gross as it sounds) then you can whip up that puppy in about 3 minutes. the limiting factor is the toasting time. the fake egg mc muffin has saved me on many a rushed morning.

don’t know the name, but you probably shouldn’t factor me into your statistics because name-remembering is not my thing. even the obvious ones that everyone should know, i unconsciously block them out.
